How to Use GSSE Trainer

A guide to the features, scoring, and study modes.

1. Study Modes

Standard Topic Mode

Select a topic from the home page. The app remembers your progress. If you stop halfway, you can come back later and resume exactly where you left off. You will never see the same question twice in this mode until you reset.

Mock Exam (Random)

Click the button at the top of the home page. This selects 20 random questions from the entire database. You have 20 minutes to complete them. This simulates time pressure.

Review Mistakes

Any question you answer incorrectly is automatically flagged in the "Review Mistakes" dashboard. You can retry these specific questions to fix your knowledge gaps.

2. Weighted Scoring

Unlike simple quiz apps, GSSE Trainer uses Weighted Scoring to mirror the complexity of medical exams.

  • Single Best Answer: Worth 1 point.
  • True / False Questions: These are the most critical. If a question has 4 options, it is worth 4 points.

Example: In a T/F question, if you get 3 options right and 1 wrong, you score 3/4 (75%), rather than 0. This ensures your Dashboard accuracy reflects your actual knowledge depth.

3. Handy Features

Saved Questions

Click the bookmark icon during any quiz to flag a question. You can access these later in the "Saved Questions" menu for quick revision.

Reset Progress

Once you finish a subtopic, you can reset it to start fresh. This wipes your history for that specific topic only.

Previous Question

Need to double-check? You can navigate back to previous questions in the current session to review the explanation again.
